Lulalei Hawaii was born from a simple belief: something beautiful is always blooming.

Created by floral designer Tara Lei, Lulalei is more than a flower shop, it is a quiet sanctuary of beauty, intention, and inspiration. A place where design meets feeling, where flowers are both art and experience, and where the Maui community can gather, learn, and discover their own creative spark.

Tara’s love for nature began far from the islands, in the crisp air of the Rocky Mountains, where she first understood how beauty can ground, heal, and transform. That early wonder eventually led her across the ocean to Maui, a place that felt like home the moment she arrived.

Her journey formally began at the Palmer School of Floral Design, but her true education unfolded over more than a decade of hands-on artistry across Maui’s most iconic spaces. Tara spent years designing within the Four Seasons Resort Maui, where she grew into a lead designer known for her refined style, emotive color palettes, and ability to make luxury feel effortless. She later stepped into the role of Wedding Director at Bella Bloom, guiding couples through some of the island’s most meaningful celebrations with grace, depth, and a designer’s eye.

Each chapter strengthened her craft, sharpened her intuition, and deepened her understanding of what flowers can truly do — create connection, inspire feeling, and mark the moments we remember most.

Lulalei is named in honor of Tara’s own lineage — Lei, her middle name, and Lula, a remarkable woman full of aloha who first taught her the joy and spirit of flowers. One year after the brand took root, life blossomed again when Tara welcomed her daughter into the world in 2021 — and in a beautiful, serendipitous echo of legacy, she too was named Lulalei.

Her daughter’s arrival deepened the heart of this dream: a reminder to nurture what we love, honor the generations that came before us, and keep beauty growing for the ones who will come after. The spirit of Lulalei — both the brand and the child — is woven into everything Tara creates: a living legacy of love, intention, and the belief that when tended with care, something truly meaningful blooms.
